Founder + President
High School Junior
One of two high school National Ambassadors for Project HEAL and Founder of Fed Up, Emily Kavic is an outspoken advocate for the eating disorder community. Through her work with the former, she has cobbled together a lofty sum to contribute to Project HEAL’s Treatment Access Programs and Communities of Healing, two of the non-profit’s seminal programs which seek to leverage socioeconomically disadvantaged victims’ connection to otherwise elusive resources in the medical realm of eating disorder response. Having grappled herself with anorexia nervosa since the fourth grade in the doldrums of small town-USA community, she was apt to note her dissatisfaction with the only resources at her disposal: TED Talks from talk show-faring quadragenarians who were decades removed from their own eating disorders. A proud Iranian-American, she seeks to vest empowerment within all those who have been slighted by silence.
